In 1968, SIMCO acquired the license for producing wires and cables.  Our production started with Low Voltage underground power cables and wires in our factory in Tehran, Old Karaj Road . 

In 1975, a joint venture was made with LM Ericsson of Sweden and a new plant was built on  150,000m² of land in the city of Rasht (Guilan province) in northern Iran. 

By purchasing and installing new machinery, the production capacity increased from 150 tons to 15,000 tons per year.  During that time, the company was manufacturing all types of  Telecom cables without  Jelly and  Low Voltage cables (armored & unarmored) up to 4x300mm² in accordance with the  Iranian standard "ISIRI", British standard "BS", German standard "VDE", International Electro Technical Commission "IEC", Japanese standard "JIS", etc... . 

In 1993, the joint venture was dissolved and in 1995 SIMCO purchased new equipment for producing Medium and High Voltage power cables.  MV & HV new line, insulated cables with dry curing method were also produced for the first time in Iran.

In 1997, we produced a 20 kV Medium Voltage cable, in 1998 a 33 kV and at the end of the same year a 63 kV cable was produced for the first time in Iran by SIMCO.  This success continued  in 2003 with design and production of 132 kV cables.  SIMCO successfully obtained "TYPE TEST CIRTIFICATE OF COMPLETE TYPE TEST" for MV and HV cables such as 20 kV, 63 kV and 132 kV from KEMA Nederland B.V.  in accordance IEC standards.  In the same year, we established a quality management system acc. to "ISO 9001". In 2007, we obtained certificates  for environmental management system acc. to "ISO 14001" &  health and safety systems acc. to "OHSAS 18001".

At the end of 2009 the installation of new machines and laboratories for producing EHV power cables up to 400 kV was completed.
